Runaways Run Club is a Maine based weekly running meetup that offers Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, group runs for all speeds and levels.

The Chadwick Bed & Breakfast

Sunday Runday 5 mile / choose-your-own-distance group run, regular routes include out to Bug Light in SoPo or to the East Prom, then back to the Chadwick for coffee and socializing. The B&B proprietors (aka, Erin & Zack) will have coffee and a pre-made breakfast option (TBD day of, granola, muffin, waffle, or similar) available for purchase after the run.

Payson Park
Runaways Run Club meets at the same location on Tuesdays at 6:00am, all year.
The meeting spot is Edward Payson Park / Sebago to the Sea parking lot & Baxter Blvd.
This run is always along the Back Cove Trail, which is a mostly flat, looped, non-technical gravel trail. The Cove trail is 3.6 miles and the run will start and finish at the same spot. All paces are welcome on the run, but please be advised that there are no set pace groups. We recommend that runners have the current ability to run at least 1-2 miles without issue.

Typically we’ll head out for a planned 6 mile group run to Mackworth Island, which can be easily modified to do more or less mileage. The route may shift depending on conditions and interest, but we will meet back at Forage for coffee and breakfast for those who would like to partake.

Join us on Sunday, April 2 for The Trail Running Film Festival 2023, a two-hour celebration on film of this wild, wonderful trail running community! The Portland, Maine screening of the 2023 Trail Running Film Festival is co-hosted and sponsored by the Runaways Run Club and Urban Farm Fermentory.
The mission of the Trail Running Film Fest is to celebrate running as a universal practice, to explore our collective and individual potential, and to pursue our wildest dreams. The Trail Running Film Festival creators accomplish this by documenting the culture of trail running, supporting filmmakers and creatives, and hosting events that bring our community together. TRFF is committed to promoting inclusivity, adventure, wilderness, art, and diversity across the trail and ultra community.

Ticket sales will benefit the TRFF Filmmaker Fund and local nonprofit Northeast Runners Alliance (NeRA).

Come check out trails that may (or may not) be unfamiliar to you, and see what great work PRLT is doing locally! Our first event will be at Pride Preserve in Westbrook. The runs will be on wooded trails with roots, rocks and elevation changes, and we will ensure that no one is left behind. All paces and abilities are welcome, and each run will be 3-4 miles in length. 6th ANNUAL PLOG!
Please join us for the 6th Annual Portland Plog Pluck on April 22nd, a city wide street clean up project!
If you've never heard of plogging, it's "plucking" trash while "jogging" = plogging! It's a great way to get out into the community and make a visible difference. We've collected over 1,500 pounds of trash to date in partnership with the City of Portland, and local businesses!
We'll provide the trash bags, gloves and handheld trash pickers, you provide the positive vibes and the legs! We'll start at 11am and end around 2pm with drinks afterwards!
